DEAN Saunders may be forced to battle his former club Wrexham for the signature of striker Damian Reeves.

Saunders has expressed an interest in bringing the Doncaster-born Altrincham hot shot to the Keepmoat to bolster his striking options.

But, unable to offer deals until contracted players depart, Rovers could miss out on the forward with the Dragons potentially ready to pounce.

The Blue Square Premier side are looking to replace striker Mathias Pogba who joined Crewe Alexandra last week.

And player-boss Andy Morrell has confirmed 44-goal forward Reeves is on his radar.

He said: “We’re talking to a few and his is a name that has been put to us.”

Oldham Athletic and Kilmarnock are two sides also reportedly interested in Reeves.
