Rotherham coach quits ahead of Doncaster Knights clash

OUT: Andre Bester has quit as head coach of Rotherham Titans.

THE Knights will face a Rotherham Titans side in turmoil on Saturday following the resignation of head coach Andre Bester.

The fiery South African has been locked in meetings with Titans directors for much of this week in a bid to draw a close to infighting which has plagued the club.

But with talks set to enter a third day, Bester has quit the Clifton Lane club, just two days before the crunch derby with the Knights.

Bester has clashed with Titans directors on a regular basis since taking the job in 2010.

A disagreement over the removal of forwards coach Ben Wade, and the subsequent fall out, led to the current bout of disciplinary meetings that have ultimately led to Bester’s departure.
