MATCH CENTRE: Doncaster Rovers v Brentford

IAIN Hume will make an immediate return to the Rovers squad for Saturday’s clash with Brentford after his scoring contribution for Canada this week.

The striker could go straight into the starting XI at the expense of Chris Brown or Billy Paynter.

James Husband will be monitored but should be fit to make the squad while Kyle Bennett and Paul Quinn are likely to play after shaking off knocks.

Brentford boss Uwe Rosler is likely to hand a debut to striker James Spencer after he joined on month long loan deal from Huddersfield Town earlier this week.

Rovers are looking for back to back home wins in the league for the first time this season while the Bees are chasing their first win on the road this term despite losing just once in 11 games.

AT THE TRAINING GROUND

Dean Saunders: “If we win our game in hand then we’ll be just off the automatic promotion places so I can’t really complain about our lack of goals.

“I think everyone is getting used to playing with each other and we’re looking solid.

“We’ve only conceded three goals from open play all season.

“We’re getting goals from all over the team which is pleasing.

“Last week at Hartlepool nine of our ten outfield players had a goalscoring opportunity.”

KEY MAN

Iain Hume has made a huge difference to the side with his ‘between-the-lines’ play.

Playing just behind the main striker, Hume can not only drop deep and link play but also get in behind defences and make runs beyond the opponents’ back-line.

It’s something you are less likely to see from Chris Brown and Billy Paynter as a pairing, but that is not to say those two can’t play together. They showed at Walsall just what they can do together.

The return of Hume, however, should see Rovers buzz against the Bees. A home win is on the cards.

Match odds: Rovers 2/1

Brentford’s last game: Scunthorpe (a) 1-1

Team: Moore, Logan, Craig, Dean, Bidwell, Forshaw, Douglas, Diagouraga, Forrester, Hayes, Donaldson.

Head to Head: Rovers wins 19, Bees wins 17, draws 14.
