London 2012: Hall set for semi-final tussle

DONCASTER’S wheelchair basketball star Jon Hall is within touching distance of winning a medal at the Paralympics.

Hall will be part of the Great Britain side to take on Canada in tonight’s semi-final (9.15pm).

The host nation held on in a tense finish to see off Turkey 75-70 in Wednesday’s quarter-final.

Britain lost to Germany and Canada earlier in the tournament but then beat Colombia, Poland and Japan to seal a place in the last eight.

Hall scored ten points in both the 81-41 win over Colombia and 87-58 victory against Poland.

Australia meet United States in the other semi-final, with the gold medal match scheduled for Saturday.
