THE Belles were robbed of a first point of the FAWSL season as hosts Bristol Academy snatched a heart-breaking injury time winner.

It looked as though John Buckley’s side had done enough to seal a point at the Stoke Gifford Stadium when substitute Beth England slammed home a free kick in the last minute.

But Grace McCatty turned home in the third added minute after Jessica Fishlock’s cross was not cleared,

The first half was tightly contested with both sides having several chances to open the scoring.

Doncaster were denied a penalty when Kasia Lipka’s shot appeared to strike Alex Windell’s hand, but appeals were rejected.

The hosts broke the deadlock nine minutes after the break when Fishlock fired home from Nikki Watts’ superb through ball.

The Belles responded well and Leandra Little narrowly missed with a header from an Alyssa Lagonia free kick.

But they did level the scores when Lipka drilled a dipping shot from 30 yards past Siobhan Chamberlain.

Ann Marie Heatherston put Bristol back in front with a fine header from a Corrine Yorston cross and they had chances to seal the win.

The Belles looked to have punished the missed chances when England fired home from a free kick in the 90th minute.

But the game was not done and McCatty popped up to snatch a late victory.
