Impressive medals haul for Olympians

MEDALS were brought back to Thorne by a local group for people with special needs.

Thorne Family Support Group took two teams to the recently held Yorkshire & Humberside Special Olympics boccia competition at the Richard Dunn Sports Centre.

Other teams attended from all over the area including York, Pudsey, Wakefield, Henshaw, Skelton and Bradford.

Thorne members David Fretwell, Roy Warrol and Kevin Round came home with gold medals.

And Richard Nielson, Deborah Goldspink and Lisa Harrison finished with bronze medals.
