THREE gold medals and as many silvers were handed to Dearne ALC athletics’ Jump Squad in an impressive team performance at the North of England Championships.

Joshua Lindley improved his personal best performances in the under 15s boys category no fewer than three times - building on his efforts of the previous competition in Manchester - to earn himself the gold in the championships during the Sheffield’s English Institute of Sport event.

His final clearance of 2.50 metres was also enough to earn him the AAA Grade Four standard - which means he was classed in the top 65 per cent in his age group.

Adam Haugh also improved on his Manchester competition with a superb clearance of 4.50m for his championship gold medal.

The third gold came by way of Luke Cutts (pictured) in the senior event following a clearance of 5m.

Collecting a silver medal included Georgia Oldfield in the under 15 girls competition who managed a 2.20m clearance.

Fellow silver winner Nicolas Cole finished with a 4.50m clearance in the under 20s category which was also an improvement on his Manchester vault.

Cole also earned a bronze medal in the seniors on the second day of the championships with a 4.40m clearance.

Long jumper Matthew Miller flew to a new personal best of 6.47m to claim a silver medal.

Patricja Krawczick cleared 2.90m in the pole vault which now sees her in fourth position in the senior women’s category.

Manchester’s competition also saw Kelsey Stones making her debut in the pole vault and jump to first place in the under 15 girls with her clearance of 1.70m.

Dylan Hardman earned first place in the under 11 long jump boys category with his distance of 2.94m.

Jordan Brannon also performed in Manchester, throwing the 5kg shot putt 7.83m in the under 17s group.
