DONS: Warrington Wolves star Brooke Broughton is back for more

BROOKE Broughton could not resist going back to the future after becoming Dons’ second signing in the space of a week.

The 21-year-old Warrington Wolves star enjoyed a loan spell with Doncaster in 2009 and has jumped at the chance to return to the Keepmoat Stadium.

The Dons will celebrate a memorable 2012 on Saturday when Tony Miller and his team take to an open top bus in town before enjoying a plush civic reception at Mansion House.

But Miller has wasted litte time in preparing for next year’s step up to the Championship - snapping up Broughton just days after the club confirmed the arrival of 23-year-old utility back Dennis Tuffour from Hunslet Hawks.

Prop forward Broughton said: “I left Doncaster on good terms after my loan and I know Carl Hall really well so there was always a positive link with the club.

“I had a number of good offers on the table and the one from Doncaster stood out more than the rest.

“I’m really looking forward to joining up with the Doncaster lads and I’m hoping to make big inroads in 2013.

“The club have just had a really good season and I hope to play on the back of that and become a better and stronger player.”

Miller said: “Brooke’s a quality signing and I’m thrilled he chose to come to Doncaster.

“He’s a strong running impact player who can bust the line and has been playing for a very good Warrington under 20s side who have just won some silverware themselves.

“He’ll certainly strengthen our pack and give us plenty of go forward.”

Dons will celebrate their Championship One double in style on Saturday, with their open top bus set to depart the Keepmoat at 11.15am.

The bus will travel around Lakeside, past the Dome and along Bennetthorpe into the town centre - arriving at Mansion House at 11.30am when Mayor Peter Davies and Carl Hall will greet the crowd.
