Doncaster Senior League round-up

REIGNING Premier Division champions Sutton Rovers reached the semi-finals of the Doncaster Senior League’s Premier Division KO Cup with a 4-2 victory at Kinsley Boys.

Chris Hancock bagged a brace for Rovers with Tom Doherty and Luke Chambers also finding the net. Joe Howey and Sean Hammonds replied.

Shafton Villa came out on top 2-1 against Denaby United. Duane Grace and Greg Darbyshire scored with Neil Spruce reducing the arrears.

Rovers Foundation won 2-1 at Swinton Athletic in the League One Cup first round. Owen Colwill claimed both goals with Matt Owen pulling one back for the home side.

Dunscroft United dished out a 6-2 quarter-final extra-time defeat to South Kirkby Town.

Carl Grant was the United star with four goals with Ryan Atkinson and Danny Miller also on target. Ricky Gaskell and Shaun Hobson shared out the consolation goals.

Denaby Main booked a semi-final spot with an 8-0 triumph at Westwoodside Rangers. Shaun Pratt and Tom O’Neill hit two each with Dylan Phillips, Joe Dungworth, Ainsley Finney and Gary Adcock, completing the spree.

Matthew Brunyee’s brace helped Bramley Sunnyside win 4-2 at Hemsworth Town and go back on top of the Premier Division. Tom Salt and James Askwith completed their tally. Michael Humberstone and Steven Cox were the Town marksmen.

A four-goal haul by Ben Gillatt laid the foundations for Bawtry Town’s 5-1 win over Scawthorpe and Bentley Rhinos. Sam Weston completed the Town’s nap hand.

There was a 3-1 Division One success for Bawtry Town Reserves at Scawthorpe Scorpions. Peter Walmsley scored twice with Anthony Nawn also chipping in.

ISG Doncaster pipped FC Central by the odd goal in five. Slawomir Ostrowski (2) and Tomasz Sowinski shared out the ISG goals with Jordan Cherowbrier and Steve Conway netting for Central.

Honours were shared 2-2 when Newton Arms hosted Harworth Colliery. Brad Atherton and Tom Cherry both found the net for the home side.
