Cold snap disrupts sporting fixtures again

Snow-bound football pitch

Snow-bound football pitch

DONCASTER Council have again postponed all sporting fixtures due to take place on their pitches this weekend because of the snow.

It will be the second successive week that the authority has called off matches on their pitches because there is “still snow on the grounds”, according to a council spokesman.

Those affected include the Doncaster Senior League, Doncaster Sunday Alliance League and Doncaster and District Junior Sunday League.

Northern Counties East League fixtures were also completely wiped out last weekend.

We will endeavour to update this page throughout the day should more games fall victim to the weather.
