Canal Tavern regained top spot in the Doncaster Sunday Alliance League Premier Division despite dropping their first points of the season.

Alliance sides contesting the Sheffield & Hallamshire FA Senior Cup suffered mixed fortunes in their second round ties.

FC Rossington Welfare beat Alliance rivals Bay Horse & Bar 6-3 with Rossington Club winning 5-1 at Swinton WMC, but Eden Grove lost 6-1 at home to Sportsman 2013 with fellow Premier Division side Armthorpe Albion also bowing out (5-1)at FC Handsworth Turf.

There were a number of all-Alliance ties in the second round of the Sheffield & Hallamshire Junior Cup with Bechers Brook, Balby Athletic, FC Parklands, Ryecroft Rovers, Loaded Sports, Parklands Spartans, Finningley Athletic, White Hart (Askern) and The Railway all booking their places in the third round.
