Federico Macheda lined up for Doncaster Rovers again tonight but it was Mark Duffy who grabbed the glory for the 10-man side with his late winner.
Macheda, 22, re-joined Rovers on loan from Manchester United. Rovers manager Paul Dickov said Macheda had rejected overtures from up to eight clubs to choose Rovers.
Duffy, making a promising start, was involved early on with two shots from distance as Rovers probed for openings.
And it was Duffy who played a part in Rovers taking the lead on 11 minutes. The move developed down the left and when Macheda squared it into the box, Furman swept home from close range.
Yeovil responded by coming back inth the game and Furman was booked for bringing down Hoskins. Fyvie took the resulting long range free kick, forcing Turnbull to a save to his left. That was Fyvie’s final contribution as he was substituted for Dawson inside the first half hour.
Rovers were being pushed back before Yeovil were forced into their second change, with Davis on for the injured McAllister.
Turnbull survived spilling a cross from the left, with Rovers getting the ball away, ut Yeovil equalised on 43 minutes after a disputed free kick against Wellens. When the ball was pleyd in from the left, it was headed back across goal by Duffy and former Rovers defender Webster steered it in from six yards.
Hoskins threatened for Yeovil soon afterwards as they were boosted by their goal.
?he second half began with both sides struggling to gain a foothold but it was Duffy who again gave Rovers hope by playing in Quinn whose low shot was held by keeper Dunn.
Then Quinn appealed for a penalty for handball by Ayling, Dunn held a free kick from the edge area by Cotterill with Rovers looking to get on top.
Wabara was booked for a challenge before Turnbull was forced into a save to thwart Davis who shot low from the edge of the area.
Turnbull dived to his right to save from Hoskins when he threatened down the left with the game well balanced.
Rovers made a change with Coppinger on for Cotterill in the 64th minute and he was soon involved, going down in the box but the ref dismissed penalty claims.
Hoskins became the latest player to be yellow-carded and moments later Paynter came on for Robinson.
Former Rovers striker Hayter came on off the bench for Yeovil in the 73rd minute, replacing Hoskins
Yeovil had a left-off when Duffy crossed low from the left but Wellens was unable to fully connect.
Furman’s night had begun well but after being booked in the first half, he was sent off on 79 minutes for his challenge on Upson.
But in the 81st minute 10-man Rovers regained the lead with a quality free kick from Duffy who beat Dunn at his near post with his right foot effort.
Macheda came off in the 86th minute with the Italian replaced by Spaniard De Val.
Yayter saw his header saved and then Ralls fired over when well placed.
