Colts travelled to Messingham Juniors for a rearranged league game and came away with a 5-1 victory.

Messingham belied their lowly league position with a spirited defensive display for the first 25 minutes, before a header out of defence by Josh Richardson was latched on to by Bobby Foster who outpaced the opposition to slam the ball under the on-rushing keeper.

The half ended with the Colts 1–0 up.

The Epworth side came out with ‘all guns blazing’ in the second half - winger Mitch Fulwood providing a superb cross for Ben Carson to knock the ball home.

Fulwood was again instrumental in Colts’ third goal, providing the pass for Ritchie Burdett to slot home from close range.

Another goal was soon to follow, this time Foster being the architect for Carson to score his second with a deft flick.

Keeper George Moore made a superb save before Messingham scored what was to be a consolation goal.

But Colts weren’t finished yet - after a scramble in the goal mouth, Carson was in the right place to slam the ball home to complete his hat trick.

Josh Richardson was awarded man of the match for a superb defensive display.
