The two 16-years-old enjoyed successful trials with the clubs.

Their achievements mean they join fellow Academy stars Kyle Wooton and Noel Burdett who are also on the apprenticeship books for Scunthorpe United.

Jackson, vice captain Cooke and Burdett were all part of the squad who recently lifted the Scunthorpe and District u16s Cup as well as the year 11 trophy.

Scott Barlow, academy football coach, said they were delighted with the four boys’ achievements.

He added: “There is certainly a wealth of talent coming from South Axholme Academy.

“We wish them well in their footballing careers.”
