DONCASTER Rovers Belles’ opening game of the new FA Women’s Super League season at Chelsea has been chosen for live television coverage.

The Easter Monday clash at Staines FC on April 9 (3pm) will be broadcast by ESPN.

Belles will no doubt be billed as underdogs for the trip to face the wealthy West Londoners.

But boss John Buckley (pictured) is optimistic about his side’s chances this season and hopeful they can improve on last season’s seventh place finish.

The ESPN cameras are likely to witness England international Sue Smith make her league debut for Doncaster, alongside Irish winger Julie-Ann Russell and towering defender Leandra Little.
