Reece Wabara will remain a Doncaster Rovers player until the end of the season after penning a new deal.

The full back rejoined Rovers as a free agent in August, initially signing a contract which was set to expire on December 31.

But he has committed his immediate future to the club by agreeing an extension.

“Reece has been great for us so far and we are all delighted that he will be here until the end of the season,” boss Paul Dickov told the club’s official website.

“We’ve gathered some momentum now and after three consecutive clean sheets we need to keep pushing on.

“We’re glad Reece will be part of that.”

Wabara has been ever-present for Rovers in League One so far this term, impressing particularly as part of the current back five which has kept three consecutive clean sheets.

The 23-year-old spent four months on loan at the Keepmoat from Manchester City last season.

He left City in April in the search for first team football.

Fellow Rovers defender Luke McCullough is currently mulling over a new contract offer to extend his stay beyond the end of the current campaign.

And Rovers boss Paul Dickov is working on extending the stays of loan trio Sam Johnstone, Enda Stevens and Andy Butler.
