Writer Liam Hoden gives his verdict on the individual performances in Doncaster Rovers’ win over Exeter City.
MARKO MAROSI 6
Questionable decision to rush out led to the penalty but he more than atoned with key saves late on.
NIALL MASON 6
Steady enough performance in defence but improved when moved into midfield in second half.
JOE WRIGHT 5
Looked very shaky at times. It appears his confidence has taken a significant knock recently.
ANDY BUTLER 6
Looked typically solid during the first half and was enjoying a good battle with the robust Reid before being taken off with a neck issue.
CEDRIC EVINA 6
Caused problems on the left in the first half and was solid enough in defence. Was part of the back three in the second half and fitted in well.
JORDAN HOUGHTON 5
Lacked his usual presence in the middle of the park as Rovers struggled to control the game.
MATTY BLAIR 6
Struggled to get on the ball and have his usual influence on Rovers attacks
RICCARDO CALDER 6
Attacking threat in the first haldf but influence increased when Rovers switched to 3-4-3 and then 3-5-2.
TOMMY ROWE 5
No where near as much of a threat as in his previous outing at the tip of the diamond.
JAMES COPPINGER 6
Struggled to mount an attacking threat playing off Marquis but did very well to set up first goal.
JOHN MARQUIS 7
Looked isolated for so much of the game but took his two finishes very well and was given a new lease of life when partnered with Mandeville.
MATHIEU BAUDRY 6
Lacked the quality expected from him but was solid in the back three
CRAIG ALCOCK 6
Added some assurance during the switch to a back three.
LIAM MANDEVILLE 9
Rovers could hardly have asked for more from the 19-year-old. Put the wind up Exeter, scored the equaliser and set up another two.
