Nathan Tyson says Doncaster Rovers have made him fall in love with football all over again and admits he is desperate to stay beyond this season.

But the striker is not certain he has done enough just yet to justify an extended deal.

Tyson arrived at the club last summer as a free agent and was handed a one-year deal.

After an injury hit first half of the season, the 32-year-old has been resurgent since the turn of the year and is Rovers’ joint top scorer alongside Curtis Main.

Tyson says he was at his lowest ebb when he joined Rovers but now has found the love once again and wants to keep it going.

“It’s made me fall in love with football again coming here,” Tyson said.

“I love it here and I owe it so much.

“For the gaffer to give me an opportunity and the club to give me a contract given the place I was in, I’m so grateful.

“I feel a hell of a lot of confidence now. I’m playing and enjoying it.

“It’s exciting coming into work and especially this time of year when you wake up in the morning wth the adrenaline rushing.

“We’re thinking we can do this and we’re so confident about it.

“I’d love to stay but football has a funny way of kicking you straight between the legs.

“I’ve spoken to my agent but anything can happen. I’d love to stay but I can’t say I definitely will.”
