He may have scored one of the most talked-about goals last weekend, but Harry Forrester hopes his next one is much more low key.

The winger inadvertently put Doncaster Rovers ahead when his attempted return of the ball to Bury after an injury sailed over the head of keeper Chris Walton.

After a fraught few moments, Rovers allowed Bury to equalise unopposed - something for which they have received widespread praise.

Forrester seems embarrassed to have got off the mark for the season in such a manner but is keen to get back on the scoring trail soon.

“Hopefully other goals are a bit more straightforward than that one and there’s not too much controversy around it,” he said.

“It was an accident and we’ll forget it.

“To be fair, I’ve shanked it. It was a bit of bad technique from me and I apologise to Bury because it wasn’t intentional.”
