Paul Dickov says he has found exactly what Rovers have been looking for with new loan signing Jordan Bowery.
The Rovers boss feels Rovers have lacked pace and power in attack in recent weeks and believes he discovered the answer in Aston Villa striker Bowery.
Dickov is particularly excited by the 22-year-old’s arrival as Theo Robinson is set to return to training this week as he recovers from a knee injury.
“I think people saw on Saturday exactly what Jordan is going to bring for us,” Dickov said.
“He’s got pace and strength and he’s honest and hard working.
“He will give us plenty of pace and power which I think we’ve missed a bit recently.
“Theo Robinson is back in training this week so with him returning and Jordan coming in, it’s very positive for us.”
Bowery arrived at the club on Friday on a month’s loan and impressed on his debut in the 2-2 draw with Barnsley a day later.
Dickov believes the former Chesterfield youngster will only improve over his time with the club.
He said: “Once the players get to know his strengths and he learns about us, he’ll do well here.”
Bowery was withdrawn after 78 minutes against Barnsley due to cramp.
Dickov expects him to be fine for Saturday’s trip to Yeovil.
