Assistant boss Duncan Milligan wants a result against Birmingham to pick up the spirits of Doncaster Rovers Belles’ reserves following a second defeat of the season.
The Belles’ development squad went 5-2 down to Everton yesterday in the FA WSL Development League Cup with Doncaster’s goals coming from Ellie Wilkinson and Lucy Sowerby.
The Belles, who last week suffered a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool in FA WSL Development League, are set to face Birmingham City Ladies reserves on Sunday at Balby Academy of Sport.
Following the Everton cup defeat, Milligan said: “We have let ourselves down a little bit.
“The week before we were in the game and today (v Everton) on another day we would get a result.”
He added: “I would like to get a result (against Birmingham) to pick spirits up a bit.”
Everton’s goalscorers were: Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah (3), Marley Forster and Lucy Whipp.
SUNDAY: Doncaster Rovers Belles v Birmingham City LFC reserves, 2pm, Balby Academy of Sport, Weston Road.
