Duncan Milligan has challenged his Doncaster Rovers Belles development side to work harder for their first victory.
A solitary 75th minute Olivia Fergusson strike for Aston Villa saw the Belles lose 1-0 and slump to a fourth straight loss in the FA WSL Development League.
Milligan, whose side travel to Durham in the cup on Sunday, said: “The development is the number one priority but it is getting to the point now where I think we would like some results so we have got to work harder and get that little bit of extra quality, and hopefully points will come.”
He added: “It’s just hard at the moment because were just that little bit short. Wether it’s a lack of quality or a lack of fitness, but that’s something for us coaching staff to go away and work on. Because you can’t fault the girl’s effort.
“I think the second half, again, has shown that the girls are always up for the battle, but we sometimes get into good areas and just lack that bit of quality.
“Gordon (Staniforth - Belles first team coach) has come in and we’ve got fresh ideas, we need to go away now and implement them and work on things in training and hopefully we’ll get there.”
