Doncaster Belles under-15s raced into a 4-0 interval lead against third-placed Wickersley to take the points and maintain their 100 per cent start to the season, writes Nigel Watson.

In an even opening, Doncaster lacked the killer touch in front of goal, until a change in formation helped Belles create some good chances.

Kirsty Nelthorpe fired in two good left foot shots, then good wing play from Libby Watson saw a fine finish from Kelsey Douglas and a powerful Phoebe Sneddon header.

The second half was scrappy with the hosts struggling to find any pattern to their play but Nelthorpe completed her hat trick and Libby Watson scored from close range.

Wickersley got a deserved consolation in the dying minutes to complete the 6-1 final scoreline.

Phoebe Sneddon was awarded Belles’ ‘Lass of the Grass’.

Belles next face Sheffield Wednesday on November 16 at home in a cup quarter final.
