ISLE football club, Crowle Colts Under 8s team, has received a £500 donation from the Making A Difference Locally (MADL) charity after it was nominated by staff at Nisa-Today’s.

Each year staff at the Member Support Centre in Scunthorpe are able to nominate local charities or good causes to receive donations through the staff MADL fund which accounts for five per cent of the total MADL fund each year.

MADL is an independent registered charity created in 2008 by Nisa with the intention of assisting more than 2,000 independent retailers supplied by Nisa throughout the UK raise money for their local communities. Retailers are able to raise funds to donate through the sale of specific products in store.

MADL works in partnership with key suppliers such as Heinz, Northern Foods and Birds Eye which agree to donate a specific amount of the cost of products to MADL. Retailers are able to raise funds through the sale of specific products in store.

Helen Wood, treasurer of Crowle Colts JFC, said: “On behalf of the Management Committee of Crowle Colts Junior Football Club and particularly the players, parents and management of the under 8s team I would like to convey our sincere gratitude for this generous gift of sponsorship.

“For community youth organisations such as ours, which work with children in the local area, financial support through sponsorship and donations from local individuals, companies and businesses, is a key factor in our survival and future development.”

Nathan Armstrong, manager of the team and parent to one of the under 8 team members, added: “We are so very thankful to be chosen as one of the good causes to receive a donation from Making A Difference Locally and to be able to purchase new kits as the old ones were worn out and needed replacing.

“We cannot express our thanks enough to the staff at Nisa who nominated us.”

The Crowle Colts team was nominated by Nisa trading assistant Kelly-Jay Marshall.
