CHRIS Head 38 not out, and Luke Cockburn scrambled a run off the last ball to gain Thorne a valuable 4th match point.

Earlier in the game Colliery had held the home side in check until a blistering barrage of boundaries from Darton propelled them to 247 from 46 overs.

Sensible batting from Thorne in reply enabled them to garner maximum batting points, Ian Lloyd with a splendid 65, and James Glew 31 were the leading lights along with Chris Head.

THORNE Colliery are into the cup semi-final after beating Rothwell on Sunday.

Matthew Cockburn took the man of the match award. The opener scored 68 and then took 4 wickets for 28 runs. Ian Lloyd continued his good vein of form with a half century and Chris Head struck 26.

When the Leeds based side batted, in addition to Matty Cockburn, Carl Walton took 3 wickets.

Chris Head 2 for 19 and Mick Sellars bowled a miserly 8 overs to take 1 for 14.

Behind the wickets James Glew took 4 catches and Carl Walton inspired the home fielders with two brilliant catches.
