FOR those at the front of the field it was a fine day out, those nearer the tail end had their day spoilt by a monsoon.

Ron Mills took the Walker Cup home after netting a 71; while Steve Pavlovskis and Ivor Gilbert had their net 73's inspected with Steve getting the nod due to the better back nine rule.

Pinky Hilton and Rick Wood gave the 4th and 14th pins the biggest threat, while Ron Mills and Harry Eland stole the hidden pairs award.

Ivor took the only birdie ball prize of the day, while John Hall accepted a special mention for his never say die attitude.

The next meeting takes place on Sunday, July 13; those already booked will be taking part in the Captain's Day at Bridlington GC on July 27.
