*THORNE Colliery U11s are looking to the forthcoming season and inviting interested players to come forward.
After believing the team would have to fold this year, with the then manager securing his place elsewhere, the children and parents were determined to keep under 11's football in the town.

There is a squad for next season, but the management are o
n the lookout for several more youngsters to join. Players should currently be in school year five.

Manager Paul Fenwick said: "It's a great opportunity for the boys to get fit, make new friends and develop footballing, as well as social skills.

"From now, the team will be managed and coached with the emphasis on fun, where the boys can grow in confidence, but at the same time, commit fully to the training and instruction given.

"If all goes well, we hope to have social functions, like a Christmas party, and to enter competions at venues like Butlins etc."

Anyone interested should go along to a training sessions at Thorne Colliery FC's ground on Wednsdays at 6pm and Saturdays at 10pm, or phone Paul on 01405 817998 or Kerry on 01405 814998.

*WINDMILL Football Club are looking for players to star in the team's Doncaster and District Sunday League campaign.

The first training session will be on Wednesday June 25, 8-9.30pm, at Trinity Academy (Astroturf).
