THORNE Colliery FC are at home this Saturday against Thorne Town FC.
The match is in memory of Andrew Jackson and Drew Young, both talented local footballers, who tragically lost their lives within months of each other.

Andy spent many years with the Colliery as a talented centre half or full back. He also played f
or Goole Town and was a huge Liverpool fan.

Drew was an outstanding forward and played mostly for Thorne Town, although he did make an appearance for the Colliery, and was a much sought after player.

The game is sponsored by Tony Pearson, and the match trophy is donated by T Wilson Plasterers, who also played for both clubs. There will be a match-day programme, and refreshments will be available, with all proceeds going to the Andy and Drew Memorial fund.

The game is at the Moorends Welfare ground, with a 3pm kick off.

Thorne Colliery's season starts away at league new boys, Church Warsop FC, on Saturday, August 16, kick off 3pm.

There will be coach travel for this season's away games, seats are only £5, and early booking is advisable. For more details contact a club official at any home game, or Graham Jones on 07879 491713.
