HATFIELD Main football club was given a welcome boost recently when it was awarded £150 from the town council.
Deputy mayor, Councillor Patsy Panks, presented manager Gary Brown with the donation and the money will be used to help pay affiliation, membership and cup entry fees.

Meanwhile, club members are pushing ahead with work to smarten up the ground.

The stand and railings surrounding the pitch have been painted, and the dressing rooms will also be given a coat of paint.

The goalmouths have been re-turfed and new goal-posts are on order.
