We still have memories of our roots in Doncaster

Thank you for the entertainment news item celebrating my birthday. It was a very nice surprise to be in the Free Press on that special day, there was one photo described as the classic line up but it was the current line up of Biff Byford's Saxon not me.

So for your archives here is a pic of the classic line up that played to a sell out Doncaster Top Rank on the Wheels Of Steel tour in 1980, just after our first appearance on Top Of The Pops .

We started in 1970 in the Doncaster area at Two Palfreys, Cantley, the Adam, Eve, Scawthorpe, Game Cock, Harworth ,White Bear Rossington and many gigs at progressive night Top Rank and have great memories of our Donny roots early in our career. I bought my first electric from Smedleys in town in 1966, it was a blue Rossetti Airstream 3 for £20.
