DONCASTER College has unveiled a brand new diner run by volunteers.
The college’s Hub campus diner provides nutritional snacks for the thousands of students and staff attending the site in Chappell Drive.
The Diner, open between 11am and 2pm, is run by the ‘Vol.Success’ volunteers and ‘Life Skills’ students from the college.
The students participating in running the diner will also be working towards a range of qualifications such as peer monitoring, personal and social development, food hygiene and health and safety.
Jo Holt, volunteer co-ordinator, said: “The volunteers will be supporting the Life skills students to develop their customer services skills while working on the Hub Diner.
“The project is very much a young person-led project and all the volunteers have been involved from the on-set and will be responsible for the daily running of the project.”
