Residents across the Isle raised a cup for Macmillan Cancer Support and generated a load of cash instantly in the process.
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning caused quite a stir as residents across the region stuck the kettle on and got involved.
Amongst the success stories were big-hearted youngsters from Wroot Travis School who managed to beat their fundraising record. The event at 10am at Wroot Village Hall last Friday, which included a host of activities, raised more than £1,000 beating last year’s total of £600.
Crowle & Ealand Mothers’ Club also raised £1,006.
Amy Hebdon, fundraising manager for the region, said: “If you haven’t paid your money in yet, you can do so by using your paying in slip from your coffee morning pack and pay the money in directly at a Natwest branch.
“We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who supported us this year. The money will be put to good use in the area to help cancer patients and their families.”
