VIDEO: Doncaster Young People’s Awards 2014

Children of achievement from across Doncaster gathered at the Mansion House for an award ceremony in recognition of their educational endeavours.

Dozens of pupils from the region’s secondary schools were joined by their parents for the Young People’s Awards 2014, hosted by the Doncaster Freemen Group to honour children who have overcome adversity or achieved the highest standards in the classroom.

Chairman Tony Storey, who was head of the Hayfield School for 38 years, said: “Young people with positive attitudes and life skills are an important part of our Doncaster community.”

Each secondary school in Doncaster was asked to nominate pupils and youngsters were presented with certificates by Civic Mayor, Coun Pat Haith.
