This is the Doncaster man who has won £1 million on a National Lottery scratchcard.
Merry Millionaire scratchcard winner Richard Carr, from Doncaster, was unveiled by lottery organisers Camelot at the Campanile Hotel today.
The 29-year-old, who is a general assistant at the Campanile Hotel on Bawtry Road, brought the scratchcard on December 28 from The Pitstop, Harworth while waiting for a bus.
Richard, who also lives at the hotel, said: “It feels absolutely incredible, I still can’t believe it!”
He added: “I had just dropped my little boy home and had some time to kill before my bus arrived so thought I’d treat myself to a Scratchcard.
“I walked out of the shop and started scratching the second game panel when I glanced down and saw that symbols matched and were worth £1million.
“I ran back inside and thrust the card at the girl behind the counter - I think she thought I’d lost my mind as I could barely speak and must have looked like a madman!”
He is pictured celebrating the success with his mother Sarah Simmons, 49.
