A veterans’ cricket team will be turning out at Headlingley on Friday in the final of a top cricket contest.
Fishlake Cricket Club’s Over 50s will be taking on the Bradford Buddies in the finals of the Grey Fox Trophy.
The Fishlake team goes into tomorow’s final as the underdogs, despite notching up 211 runs when they beat New Farnley in last weekend’s semi-final.
The Fishlake team comprises players from the village and near nearby areas, all of whom have played the game for years at various levels.
“Everybody has got a track record. Mobility is not what it was but everyone thinks they are a good player,” said John Wallbank.
The match is restricted to 30 overs - which means not too much running about, joked John.
