Two pedestrians seriously hurt in collision on A19 in Doncaster

Two pedestrians have been seriously injured after an incident on the roads of Doncaster.

Police say they are thought to have been injured in a collision with a car after walking onto the road at around 10.50pm on Saturday.

Officers say they were told a black Peugeot Eurocab was travelling along the A19 Doncaster Road, Owston, towards the Owston Lodge pub and Askern.

A police spokesman said: “It is believed that two pedestrians, a 24-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman, entered the carriageway where a collision happened.

“The pedestrians were taken to Northern General Hospital to receive treatment for their injuries. The man, from Pontefract, suffered cuts to his knee and head. The woman, from Askern, suffered bruising to her liver.”

The 57-year-old man driving the Eurocab was not injured.
