THREE men were injured after the car they were travelling in crashed into a garden wall in Thurnscoe while being pursued by police.
The incident happened at about 8.30pm on Wednesday, October 26, when a black Volkswagen Bora failed to stop for police on Station Road.
Two marked white Ford Focus police cars with lights and sirens activated initiated a pursuit.
The Bora went around the wrong side of a mini traffic island for the junction of Station Road with Houghton Road, before the driver lost control and crashed into a garden wall on Houghton Road.
Two male passengers, aged 18 and 19, sustained slight injuries and were taken to Barnsley General Hospital but not detained.
The 22-year-old male driver suffered a broken leg and possible internal injuries and is being treated at the same hospital.
All three men are from Barnsley.
The car was being stopped after a report of a theft from Barrowfield Road.
Police have not yet made any arrests and want to hear from anyone with information about the alleged theft, the manner of driving of the Bora and the crash itself.
