A NEW look road network created as part of Doncaster’s £300 million Cultural and Civic Quarter is to be unveiled.

The new Waterdale is to open on Monday for public transport, taxis and cyclists.

Changing the road layouts in the area is part of a plan to encourage more people into the area.

Motorists will still have to use the current road network of travelling along Chequer Road and College Road.

Police will be patrolling the new section of Waterdale which has been made more pedestrian friendly to ensure drivers are not breaking traffic regulations.

Work on a new public square is progressing well. Additional public space is also being created in Horsefair Green, opposite Ward Brothers. These works should be complete in spring 2012.

The first phase of the CCQ also includes a £20 million performance venue, new civic offices and a refurbished Civic Quarter Car Park. All phase one work should be completed by spring 2013.
