Man suffers life threatening injuries and horse killed in Askern crash

A 22-year-old man has sustained life-threatening injuries and a horse has died in an Askern collision.

The man is currently in a life-threatening condition in hospital following the collision, which took place at 6.05am this morning in Moss Road near to the junction with Heywood Lane.

The man injured was driving an Audi A4 car when he collided with a horse, which died as a result of the collision.

Moss Road is still closed in both directions near the Heyworth Lane junction, as recovery work takes place.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the collision.
