A THREE-YEAR-OLD girl was still fighting for her life in hospital this morning after she was hit by a train on the East Coast Mainline.

The girl was seriously injured when she was hit by an East Coast high speed service on the line just outside Adwick station yesterday lunchtime.

Her dad, a 28-year-old man from Bentley was killed in the incident.

The girl was in a critical condition after she was airlifted to Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

Police are continuing to investigate how the pair were on the track.
