A HEART-warming campaign was celebrated by pupils in honour of one of their classmates.
Misson Primary School youngsters came together to support the British Heart Foundation in aid of pupil Tom Proctor, 11, who was born with Di George Syndrome - meaning he was born without a pulmonary artery.
Tom has already undergone surgery when he was one which made a hole in his heart so that blood could flow through.
The condition leaves Tom feeling breathless and often having to use a wheelchair if he is struggling.
His classmates held a number of fundraising events in his honour which included dressing in red and selling homemade cakes from their school in Dame Lane raising around £200.
Other fundraisers took place across the borough for the foundation’s ‘Wear Red for Heart’ campaign including a coffee morning at Bawtry Natural Health and staff at Bawtry caterers Feast wore red.
