Thieves have escaped with hundreds of pounds worth of parts after they targeted three Land Rover Discovery cars.

A thief took the front headlamps from a Land Rover Discovery at Clayfield Lane in Mexborough at 11.41pm on Sunday, November 17.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “The culprit ran off with the parts after being disturbed by someone inside the house who’d seen a person near the vehicle and gone outside.”

There were also two other incidents in Sheffield, which police believ could be linked to the Mexborough one.

Thieves stole rear, reverse and fog lights, worth £300, from a vehicle parked at Marlcliffe Road, Hillsborough, between 5pm on Sunday, November 10, and 11am on Sunday, November 17.

Meanwhile at Edmund Road, Highfield, Sheffield, headlamps and indicators, worth £400, were taken from a car between 5pm on Saturday, November 16, and 2pm on Sunday, November 17.

Both 4x4s had a 2003 plate.

Anyone with information about any of the incidents is urged to contact police on the non-emergency number 101.
