a GARDEN centre is on the drive to make sure folk eat their five-a-day.

The Walled Garden based in Balby is offering veg boxes to residents as part of its work to help people suffering with mental illness.

The social enterprise is run by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) and is in the ground of St Catherine’s Hospital in Tickhill Road.

Three sizes of boxes suitable for a single person up to groups of four or more are for sale. Prices range £5 to £10.

Mike Rysak, the trust’s social enterprise manager, said: “We suggest orders are placed about a week before the veg box is required.

“You can ring or email us with your order, agree a convenient collection date, and pay by cash or card.”
