TEAM GB’s sporting success at the London Olympics has inspired youngsters in Barnsley.
A survey conducted by Hockey Nation has revealed that two thirds of children living in the town have been encouraged to become more active since the beginning of the 2012 Games.
Around 41 per cent of those asked said watching sport on TV would motivate them to try it.
Children also revealed their dad is their number one sporting partner for 43 per cent, closely followed by siblings at 34 per cent and their mum at 19 per cent.
The survey was conducted to help promote the Hockey Nation Give it a Go programme, which aims to encourage more youngsters to try out the sport by hosting free turn up and play sessions. For more information visit www.hockeynation.info
