A new Internet cafe is proving popular with coffee lovers in Swinton.

The Honey Pot Cafe at Swinton Civic Hall has recently been equipped with the latest Wi-Fi equipment and it is believed this is the first cafe of its kind in the town.

The Communitas organisation provided funding for the scheme and tutors will be available to support residents by teaching basic computer skills.

Cafe manager Ann Cobb, 59, of Kilnhurst, pictured above, said: “We get a lot of regulars into the cafe and this is something new we can offer them.

“It is never too late to learn a new skill.”

Visitors will be able top update their CV, apply for jobs, find the cheapest energy tariffs or just enjoy contacting their family and friends online. The Internet cafe is open Wednesday and Friday from 10am to 2pm.
