Haxey Memorial Hall has been successful in its bid to be accepted onto the list of Lincolnshire Co-operative’s Community Champions scheme.
The scheme works by shoppers using their dividend card when they visit any Co-op store to make a donation to their nominated charity.
Haxey Memorial Hall is totally self-supporting and is run for the benefit of the Isle community by a committee of dedicated volunteers. Income from lettings covers day-to-day running costs but volunteers continually fundraise to carry out repairs and refurbishment.
Hall committee chairman Carol Lindley said: “Our hall is a well-run and well used facility for the young and old alike. It is regularly hired out for functions - more so since we made a liner for the main hall - as well as being used for exercise, sport, education and meetings. The library and our excellent (as rated by OFSTED) pre-school are also housed in the hall.”
To help visit www.lincolnshire.coop/communitychampions and select “Choose my own Community Champion” option. Follow the steps and select the hall to receive a portion of the Community Champions fund - this can be anything from £250 to £1,500.
