A STUDENT who completed a 13-mile sponsored bike ride in memory of his teenage cousin is fast approaching raising £2,000 for charity.

Ben Wooldridge, 17, cycled from his home in Park Road, Moorends, to to Doncaster Lakeside in memory of 14-year-old Beth Fitzpatrick of Cantley, who died from cancer on Mother’s Day.

The ride, which Ben and his four friends completed in one hour and 20 minutes on Saturday, has already raised around £1,700. The Trinty Academy pupil will donate the final amount to the Teenage Cancer Trust charity, which provided support to Beth during her four month fight against the disease.
