Community-minded residents took to the streets to help clean up their town of litter.

A group of about a dozen people donned gloves and high visibility clothing to clear rubbish from around Montgomery Hall in Wath.

They also gave up their Saturday to weed public gardens around the Church Street and Montgomery Square areas.

They were assisted by members of the Wath-upon-Dearne Community Partnership.

Organisers said the area looked much better afterwards.
