HOSPITAL staff put their best foot forward and walked to work as part of a national campaign.

The teams from Doncaster and Bassetlaw hospitals joined forces for the Walk to Work Week which aims at getting more people active.

Debbie O’Toole, occupational health service manager at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: “I am very pleased that so many staff participated in the national Walk to Work week.

“Many staff live near to the hospital or use the Trust’s park and ride facility at the Doncaster Racecourse. We have been actively encouraging them to leave their cars at home or walk to work from the Doncaster Racecourse Park and Ride. It’s a great way to relax and only takes around 15 minutes.”

The Trust’s occupational health and wellbeing team have been encouraging its staff to be more active advising them to use the stairs more often, get off the bus a couple of stops sooner than they need to and to take every opportunity to walk during breaks.
