Firefighters were called out to deal with the following incidents around South Yorkshire last night.

Crews from Rotherham had to evacuate a building in Hollygate Road, Rotherham at 8.08pm last night.

The building was heavily smoked logged when crews arrived.

No one was injured in the incident.

Edlington fire station attended a kitchen blaze in Markham Avenue, Carcroft, Doncaster at 9.30am.

The fire is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault on the fridge.

No one was injured in the incident.

Firefighters from Alfreton attended a bench fire in Post Mill Community Centre, Normanton at 8.53pm.

A kitten was rescued from a drain by firefighters in Keepers Gate Derby at 4.56pm.

Firefighters used a hose reel jet to assist the RSPCA with the rescue.
